It is May 27, 2020 and the coronavirus/COVID-19 is pandemic… it has spread terror and trouble throughout the world!
Interestingly, my Bible reading this morning happened to be Psalm 91… that’s right, Psalm 91!!! You should read it for yourself, meditate on its words, reflect on its assurances!!!
After reading it today, I jotted a few things in the margin of my Bible…
“I will not live in fear – I choose to walk in faith! I will not be paralyzed by terror – I will trust the Lord!
“I’ve just gotta say… Regardless of what comes my way… Regardless of what happens… Regardless of what is going on around me… I WILL TRUST HIM!!!”
The Psalm starts this way: My declaration… “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. THIS I DECLARE ABOUT THE LORD… He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I will trust Him!” (Psalm 91:1-2 NLT)
And at the end of the Psalm – His declaration; what He says back to me (and you who choose to trust Him)… “The Lord says, ‘I will rescue those who love me! I will protect those who trust in my name! When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble! I will rescue and honor them! I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation!” (Psalm 91:14-16 NLT)
There… I said it… and He said it! Psalm 91 describes how I intend to live my life in the middle of this crisis (and others that may come my way in the future)… How about you?
