1. Every day – day-by-day and night-by-night – I look up and see God’s glory grandly displayed in the splendor of the heavens!
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork…” (19:1-6)
2. And every morning during my time of “coffee with the Lord” (and during other times and opportunities that I have) I am comforted, counseled, confronted, convicted, and cleansed by the marvelous truth of God’s word revealed through Scripture!
“The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul! The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple! The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple! The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart! The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes! The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever! The rules of the Lord are true and righteous altogether! More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb! Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward!” (19:7-11)
3. All of that – God’s revelation in the heavens and nature, and also God’ revelation through His infallible word – prompt me to cry out from the bottom of my heart often, as I did again this morning…
“Who can discern his own errors? O, declare me innocent from hidden faults! Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sin – let them not have dominion over me! … Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer!” (19:12-14)
