The story of two old people laughing about the promise of God…

two old people laughing

Are you facing challenges that seem impossible? You have the promises of God, and He has spoken His assurance to your heart… But the feelings of impossibility still haunt you!

It happened to Abraham and Sarah in the Bible… What God promised seemed so impossible to them that they laughed! After all Abraham was 99 at the time of the promise and Sarah was 90 (past child bearing age). But it was in the plan, purpose and the promise of God! God reminded them, “Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year and Sarah shall have a son!” (Genesis 18:14)

And today, in my Bible reading during “coffee with the Lord” this is what I read…

“The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised! Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age AT THE TIME OF WHICH GOD HAD SPOKEN TO HIM. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. Abrahams was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. And Sarah said, ‘Who would have said to Abrahams that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age!” (From Genesis 21:1-7)

Hey listen, when it is in the plan and purpose of God – when God’s promise is clear – NOTHING can hinder him from fulfilling it! “Is ANYTHING too hard for the Lord?” Keep trusting the Lord! Be obedient to His guidance! God will fulfill his promise, his purposes, and plan! If you’ve been laughing the laugh of incredibility and impossibility… you may be about to be surprised by joy!
