Mercy! Mercy Lord! Mercy is what we need! Psalm 123

I’m a dependent creature – certainly not independent! I’m dependent in so many ways – physically, emotionally, and spiritually! I desperately need the Lord’s mercy! I’m dependent on Him! Don’t know about you, but I don’t know what I’d do with God’s MERCY!

Thought about that this morning as I read the following Psalm this morning during “Coffee with the Lord!”

“To you I lift up my eyes,
O you who are enthroned in the heavens!
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master,
As the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he has mercy upon us.

Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us,
For we have had more than enough of contempt!
Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease,
Of the contempt of the proud.”
Psalm 123 ESV

The message of that Psalm reminded me of an old Andre Crouch song and the cry of the devoted human heart it expresses… Listen and enjoy (and let the “cry” of the song become the cry of your heart!)
