Words of worship prompted by a royal wedding!

They have that unconditional love

Weddings are beautiful! Couples look at each other with adoring eyes!

This morning during “Coffee with the Lord” I read a psalm that according to the tradition celebrated a “royal wedding.” Most scholars believe it has clear Messianic overtones – it celebrates the One who is “King of Kings and Lord of Lords!” It has a kind of adoring atmosphere about it… today It prompted my worship of my “heavenly King!” Here’s some of what it says…

“My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the King; my tongue is like the pen of a ready writer! You are most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips, You are blessed forever… In your majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness! … Your throne, O God, is forever and ever! The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness; you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore, God, your God has anointed You with the oil of gladness beyond your companions. Your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia… I will cause your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore nations will praise you forever and ever.” (from Psalm 45)

Brought to mind the words of this contemporary worship song…

“You are beautiful beyond description
Too marvelous for words
Too wonderful of comprehension
Like nothing ever seen or heard
Who can grasp Your infinite wisdom
Who can fathom the depth of Your love
You are beautiful beyond description
Majesty enthroned above

And I stand, I stand in awe of You!
I stand, I stand in awe of You!
Holy God to whom all praise is due
I stand in awe of You!”
