A wonderful word of assurance today to someone who has been the “prodigal!” Rebellion has been the hard road you have traveled, it ended in a lonely pigpen, lost hope and gnawing hunger deep within! But you came to the end of yourself – you came to your senses, you found the road home, and in humility threw yourself at your Heavenly Father’s feet! (Read Luke 15:11-32 in your Bible for the whole story!)
Often during “coffee with the Lord” I sense that He has given me a wordfor someone… Today in my Bible reading it was a word for a prodigal who has returned to the Lord…
Here it is… “For thus says the Lord God… In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength… The Lord waits to be gracious to you! He exalts Himself to show mercy to you! For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are those who wait for Him! … You shall weep no more! He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry! As soon as he hears it, he will answer you. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide Himself anymore, but your eyes shall see Him. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying ‘This is the way, walk in it!’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.” (From Isaiah 30:15-21
You should read the entire passage… It’s addressed to a people who have rebelled and gone their own way to their hurt… PRODIGALS! It’s written to YOU!
