Coffee With The Lord

I jotted this in the margin of my Bible this morning… (I was reading James 1:26-27)

“Think you’re ‘religious?’ Then live it! From mouth, to mercy and much, much more!”

Here’s what James 1:26-27 says:

“If anyone thinks they are religious but does not bridle his tongue he deceives his heart! This person’s religion is worthless! Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”

My cry? Oh Lord help me to LIVE IT!

“Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves… Do what it says! … Whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do!” (James 1:22-25 NIV)

Been a tough year?  Have you faced one setback and trial after another?  Things have not gone well?

HERE’S A PRE-THANKSGIVING STRATEGY RIGHT OUT OF THE BIBLE TO HELP… (And from a prophet who had a difficult message to deliver)…

“Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD; I WILL TAKE JOY IN THE GOD OF MY SALVATION.”  (From Habakkuk 3:17-18 ESV)

There it is… the strategy:  Giving thanks REGARDLESS!  Gonna do it!!
