Perhaps some dear, dear friends have just spent some time with you… You know the kind: You share values, experiences, and faith. These are the kind of friends you laugh with, cry with, and can have deep, authentic, unvarnished conversation with. They just left… you hated to see them go, and after they departed your heart ached (there was even a tear or two)!
I got up early this morning and had my usual time of “coffee with the Lord” during which I read the following passage. (It’s really a prayer and blessing!) As I read it, I thought… What a marvelous passage to share with friends to express your heartfelt feelings! … What a way to bless them!
And then it entered my mind to share it with you today; my “coffee with the Lord” friends! And so here it is… my blessing and prayer for YOU (from two different versions of the Bible… you can take your pick)! 2 Thessalonians 1:11–12…
“To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve you have for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (the English Standard Version)
“So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.” (the New Living Translation)
So, from me today… God’s richest blessings on you (and all that involves)!
Why not write down the reference and when you get an opportunity share it with some of your dear friends?
