Imagine it… Father God point us out and saying, “That’s My child over there!”

It is a wonderful and affirming thing to hear someone say, “I’m proud to say, that is my son, or daughter over there” or “that is my family!” And it’s a wonderful thing when it is spoken in a personal way or a collective way! I think back on the times that I recall my parents “owning that I was theirs, with pride,” fondly.

This morning during my time of “coffee with the Lord” I read a passage where “Father God” spoke affirming words like that about His people Israel… But what He said about them can also be applied to us individually… personally, as His children! Just to hear the Heavenly Father say it… how wonderful!

So why don’t you read the following words from Isaiah 44 today and apply them to yourself as God’s child! I did! Revel in them, delight in them, be affirmed by them… most of all, live in light of what they declare about how God feels about you – one of His children through “new birth” (John 3:1-8)!

“Remember these things… for you are mine! I formed you; you are my servant! You will not be forgotten by me! I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.

“Sing, O heavens, for the LORD has done it! Shout, O depths of the earth; break forth into singing, O mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For the LORD has redeemed [you] and will be glorified in [you].

“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the LORD, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself… who confirms the word of his servant and fulfills the counsel of his messengers!” (From Isaiah 44:21-26 ESV)

Can you imagine the Heavenly Father saying that about you? It’s true, you know! Here’s how Apostle John phrased it… “See what kind of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called ‘children of God”; and so we are! … Beloved, we are God’s children NOW! And what we WILL BE has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is! And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself as He is pure!” (1 John 3:1-3)

God’s child – think of it! And He’s not ashamed to point us out as belonging the Himself! Wow!!
