A Spiritual Leader’s Appeal … “Strive Together With Me in Prayer!”

Intercessory Prayer

Just a “nudge” for prayer from my time of “coffee with the Lord” this morning…

Apostle Paul appealed to fellow believers in Rome… This was his urgent request:

“I appeal to you by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf, that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints…” (From Romans 15:30-33)

Just a reminder that there are faithful servants of the Lord working in very difficult, dangerous and challenging places today! Many of them are risking their lives to share the Gospel and minister to the needs of others in Jesus’ name. They need protection, strength and courage! Others face daunting challenges and resistance doing the will of God and sharing the “good news” – the Gospel – right here in our homeland! They need our prayers – passionate intercession on their behalf is in order! The Holy Spirit may prompt you to pray – the Holy Spirit may even pray through you when you don’t know how to pray “with groaning to deep for words.” May we just pray – they’re depending on us! Just like Paul, their appeal comes “by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit!”

So let’s pray – not just today, but in an ongoing, continual way… “Pray without ceasing!” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
