I’m happy to say I finished reading the Bible again this year… and a very appropriate passage that was a part of my reading this morning, it seems to me, was Jude 24-25 (from that little one chapter book in the Bible just before Revelation).
Be honest with yourself… in the Christian journey during 2017 have you had a stumble or two, a failure, a disappointment, a regret? I have, to my sorrow! (Thank God for grace and forgiveness, eh?) I want 2018 to be better, don’t you! How did the old gospel song express it? “Victory ahead!”
Here’s what I jotted in the margin of my Bible this morning next to Jude 24-25…
Needed on New Year’s Eve, 12/31/2017! … And needed on New Year’s Eve every year… not only that – at the beginning of every day of my life … HE IS ABLE!”
Oh, the passage? Here it is (worth memorizing!)… “Now to Him WHO IS ABLE to keep you from falling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, BEFORE ALL TIME and NOW and FOREVER! Amen!”
So… leaving 2017 behind and looking ahead…Put on your running shoes with hope and confidence! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
