Growing up I remember the “Charlie Atlas” ads… Always showing the “before” – a weakling that everybody pushed around and took advantage of; and the “after” – a muscle-bound, chiseled, hunk of a man that no one would dare push around.
What do you do when you feel weak and incapable of dealing with the challenges you’re facing? Well one bit advice might be to fill you mind and heart with the truths about God found in the last part of Psalm 18! Read and reflect on this when you feel weak! …
“For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? — the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great. You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip… You equipped me with strength for the battle! … The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation!” (From Psalm 18:31–50 ESV)
There! That ought to make you feel better! He will strengthen you, help you, and fight for you when you feel weak and incapable! He is on your side!
