Who Jesus is? It’s not based upon a myth! Eyewitnesses saw His glory and heard the Heavenly Father’s witness!

transfigurationHey, it’s not a myth, not a fairy tale either, Peter wasn’t hallucinating – no “pipe dream” induced by bad pizza either!  Peter saw the outshining of the glory of Jesus, the divine Son of God, and he heard with his own ears Jehovah, the Heavenly Father’s, attestation of who He was!  It wasn’t made up!  He, along with James and John, who were there saw it and heard it! (Check out Matthew 17:1-8; Mark 9:2-8; Luke 9:28-36; and John 1:14)  They knew who Jesus REALLY was!

Here it is in Peter’s own words right out of the Bible:  “For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty!  For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,’ we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain!  And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.  For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit!  (From 2 Peter 1:16-21 ESV)

And Apostle Peter’s message to us?  “Com’on listen up!  Pay attention to what Jesus had to say and what He did… Also pay attention to what the prophets had to say!  It’s all been fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God and Savior of all who believe!”  I don’t know about you, but I’m going to do it!
