Have you checked the news today? It’s time to pray!!

Praying Hands

I don’t know if you’ve watched the news today… read the newspaper… or checked the news postings on your electronic device. If you have, you know that our nation and our world desperately needs prayer! I know we can feel so helpless – powerless to do anything about it! The need for divine intervention is at critical levels! Wars, violence, terrorism, disasters, failed leaders, all manner of crises everywhere! We can and should bathe it all in prayer! There are abundant prayer opportunities – plenty of prayer needs!

And then this is what I read this morning during “Coffee with the Lord”… Nothing new really! But it’s God will! “It is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior!” Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, articulated it for us…

“I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth!” (1 Timothy 2:1–4 ESV)

Hey, fellow followers of Jesus Christ, WE NEED TO MAKE THIS A PRIORITY! We can’t disengage for our world and isolate ourselves from its pain and problems! We’re to be redemptive agents of the Gospel (the Good News) in a fallen world! Will you join me in prioritizing prayer? There’s about 90 days until the elections here in the United States… Let’s make each day a “day of prayer!” But let’s do more than that… Let’s make the kind of prayer Apostle Paul advocated as God’s prophetic spokesman a way of life! Do I have a witness? Who will join me?
