Think about it… Why has God blessed you and your family so abundantly?

This morning I am in awe of God’s great redemptive purpose for all humanity! Oh the breadth of it! Encompassing and including all peoples of the earth! God’s great love for all people expressed in sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sin and to be resurrected to give eternal life to all who will receive it… The truth of this provision is expressed in the profound words of John 3:16… “For God SO LOVED the world that He gave His only Son, that WHOEVER BELIEVES IN Him should not perish but have ETERNAL LIFE!”

So why is God so gracious to us – why does He bless us so abundantly? It is simply for our benefit and enjoyment? No! A thousand times no! God’s great redemptive purpose – the reason He blesses those He has redeemed has a much broader and encompassing vision! This morning I read about it in Psalm 67 during my time of “Coffee with the Lord”…

“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His fact to shine upon us! So that Your way may be known upon the earth, your saving power among ALL NATIONS! Let the peoples praise you, O God; let ALL THE PEOPLES praise you! Let THE NATIONS be glad and sin for joy! … (And to emphasize it, it is repeated again in the Psalm…) Let the peoples praise you, O God; let ALL THE PEOPLES praise you! … God, our God, shall bless us! God shall bless us! Let ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH fear Him!” (From Psalm 67)

Oh, I want to see the rich and wonderful blessings God has given to me, my family, and fellow Christians through the eyes of that grand vision! It’s not for me! He blesses us to be a blessing, and to take the great redemptive message of the Gospel to the nations – to all people of the world, everywhere – so they can participate in His rich blessing and become a part of the great throng of people who eternally praise Him…

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’ And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, ‘Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen!’” (Revelation 7:9–12 ESV)

Wow! What a grand and glorious vision! I want to do my part to help make it a reality! Don’t you?
