Jesus understands… He’s been through it before… Let Him tell you His story!

Perhaps you’ve experienced it… You were going through a difficult experience… trying to deal with a challenging situation… you were pushed to the limit and didn’t know what to do. In a conversation with a person you highly respect – a leader with great influence and success – it just came out… you “spilled the beans” and let them know what was happening, what you were experiencing, how difficult it was!

Your story prompted their story… They told you about an experience they had that was just as trying, just as difficult, just as impossible! They shared the feelings they struggled with, how they were tempted to give up, how they survived and overcame! What an encouragement! What a help they were! How “human” they became – how approachable! Your esteem for them just went through the ceiling!

Jesus is a lot like that for His followers! I read about it this morning in the Bible!

“But we see Him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting that He, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering… Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, He himself likewise partook of the same things… Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God… For because He himself has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.” (from Hebrews 2:9–18 ESV)

I’m so grateful for Jesus! He knows! He understands! He’s been through it! His story – His experience – His victory helps me! He can help you! “Spill the beans” – tell Him about what you’ve been going through! And then let Him share His story with you!
