Biblical poetry and “emblematic parallelism” in Psalm 103… WOW! (Check it out!)

The passage I read today during “coffee with the Lord” was Psalm 103. I love a feature of Biblical poetry called “emblematic parallelism”!! When it is used a statement is made in a figurative way and then compared to a concrete truth. The truths taught with the use of this poetic device are powerful! Psalm 103:11-13 teach three of my favorite truths with this device! I read them again and reveled in the truths they emphasize. Here are the verses and pics to encourage your reflection… Enjoy!!

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear Him!

“As far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us!

“As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear Him!”
