An accurate interpretation of Philippians 4:13? … Check out the pics

One of my wonderful faculty members, Garland Owensby, reminded me this morning of the accurate interpretation of Philippians 4:13, given the context of the passage… “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”  Check it out and look at the pics…in prison empty-wallet

Is the “tough guy” image appropriate for a “servant of the Lord”?

She claimed to be a Christ-follower – a faithful servant of the Lord, but her persona – her demeanor communicated… “Hey, I’m one tough diva! I’ve got a chip on my shoulder and you’d better not touch it!” I don’t think she was even aware how she came across! I asked her about that one day…

Man or woman, a “servant of the Lord” should not come across that way. In fact I read about it this morning…

“The Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome, but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his (or her) opponents with gentleness.” (2 Timothy 2:24)

Christlike! That’s how I want to come across to others! Christlike! Help me Lord today!

A godly leader… Oh, what a blessing!

A godly leader… Oh, what a blessing!! If you have one… Offer thanks to God for them and let them know how much you appreciate them! Pray for them daily!

And if you have been given the responsibility and privilege of leadership determine to be a godly leader, fulfilling your responsibilities in the “fear of God” (i.e. with reverence for God as the foundation of your leadership).

Here’s what king David, one of human history’s greatest leaders had to say about the subject just before he died…

“When one rules justly over people… ruling in the fear of God, he dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to spout from the earth.” (from 2 Samuel 23:3-4)

Oh, how I want to be that kind of leader! Oh, how grateful I am for the godly leaders God has given me!
