“REMEMBERING!”

“IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME…”

We remember (and celebrate) our birthdays… We remember anniversaries… We remember other special events and occasions…

Apostle Paul urged us, at the command of Jesus, our Savior, to remember THIS VERY SPECIAL EVENT…

“The Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you. DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.’  In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.’  For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes!”  (From 1 Corinthians 11:23–26 ESV)

Now there are birthdays I would not think of forgetting, and anniversaries I would not fail to remember… How much more will I relish and remember what my Savior did on my behalf!

“I delivered to you AS OF FIRST IMPORTANCE… Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scripture.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Remembering!  Recalling, Rejoicing!  Responding! …Never forgetting!!

THE LORD FORGIVES REPENTANT SINNERS!

THE LORD FORGIVES REPENTANT SINNERS!

Hey King David should know…Check out David’s sin: 2 Samuel 11:1 – 12:15… Read David’s prayer of confession and repentance: Psalm 51:1-17… And then consider what I read during “coffee with the Lord” this morning…

“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit… I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin!” (From Psalm 32:1-5)
