Where Can Wisdom Be Found?

Job 28 – One of my absolute favorite passages!!! … Where can wisdom be found? (a repost)

What an inspired and lofty literary poetic masterpiece!!! The Holy Spirit was certainly inspiring Job’s words!!! An inspired discourse on “Wisdom” – God’s wisdom – where it is to be found… Let me be one voice urging you to slow down, read this passage reflectively, and be prepared to respond to it’s truth and challenge!  It was a part of my Bible reading today during my time of “Coffee with the Lord!”

1) Human ingenuity and effort have accomplished much, but that has not uncovered it! (vss. 1-11)

2) “But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man does not know its value, nor is it found in the land of the living!” (vss. 12-13)

3) The value – the price of it – is beyond estimation!! (vss. 14-19)

4) The question posed again: “From where then does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding?” (vss. 20-22)

5) THE DECLARATION! … “GOD UNDERSTANDS IT WAY, AND HE KNOWS ITS PLACE! … He saw wisdom and declared it! He prepared it, indeed He searched it out! And to us He said, ‘BEHOLD THE FEAR [REVERENCE] OF THE LORD, THAT IS WISDOM, AND TO DEPART FROM EVIL IS UNDERSTANDING!!!” (vss. 23-28)

We’ve got to get it from God – true wisdom!!! Oh God, may I make that discovery – I need it! I can only find it in You!!!

Miracles! Miracles! Miracles!

This morning during my time of “Coffee with the Lord” I read a passage I labeled “Miracles, Miracles, Miracles!” (Matthew 8:1-17) What a faith building passage! What a reinforcement of faith and the confidence that nothing is impossible with God! What a testimony to the reality that the “already” aspect of the “Kingdom of Heaven” has broken into time and space with the coming of Jesus Christ! (The future aspect of that Kingdom awaits His return – His “2nd coming.”)

First, Jesus hears a leper’s plea and responds, reaches out, and at the risk of defiling Himself, touches the “unclean one” (and instead of it making Him ceremonially unclean) cleanses the man of leprosy – what was considered at that time an “incurable disease”!!! (Vss. 1-4)

Next, Jesus responds to a Roman Centurion’s plea for a valued servant, offers to come and heal him, but expresses wonderful faith in his comments about “authority” – “Only say the word and my servant will be healed!”…. Jesus’s responds to the powerful expression of the Centurions faith and says, “Go, let it be done as you have believed! And the servant was healed at that very moment!” (Vss. 5-13)

Finally, Jesus heals Peter’s mother-in-law… He simply touches her hand and she is immediately healed!

The result? That evening “they brought to Him many who were oppressed by demons and HE CAST OUT THE SPIRITS WITH A WORD AND HEALED ALL WHO WERE SICK! Matthew then makes this observation: “This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases!'” (quotation from the prophet Isaiah 53:4) (Vss. 14-17)

HEAR ME, THAT’S WHO JESUS IS – THAT’S WHAT HE’S LIKE – THAT’S WHAT HE CAN DO!!! … And the “Resurrected Christ” is still doing miraculous things like this today!!! Trust Him!

Exploding in Personal Worship!

Apostle Paul has just been discussing God’s incredible redemptive plan for all people of the world – Jew and Gentile! He argues that God’s got it all worked out!

He closes with this wonderful “Doxology” of high praise to an all wise, all powerful God! He literally explodes in worship!!! This is the pinnacle of Romans!!!

“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid? For from him and through him and to him are all things! To him be glory forever! Amen!” (Romans 11:33-36)

My advice? Pause and explode in worship!!! I did!!! Amen!!!
