On this election day…

“Those who forsake God’s law praise the wicked, but those who keep it strive against them.

“Evil people do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely!

“Better is a poor man who walks in integrity, than a rich man who is crooked in his ways!”

(From Proverbs 28:4-6)

Living the Christian Life…

I jotted this in the margin of my Bible this morning… (I was reading James 1:26-27)

“Think you’re ‘religious?’ Then live it! From mouth, to mercy and much, much more!”

Here’s what James 1:26-27 says:

“If anyone thinks they are religious but does not bridle his tongue he deceives his heart! This person’s religion is worthless! Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”

My cry? Oh Lord help me to LIVE IT!

Avoiding Self Deception

“Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves… Do what it says! … Whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do!” (James 1:22-25 NIV)
