“Found Faithful” … My Desire!

I found myself desiring to be “FOUND FAITHFUL” after reading the following passage this morning during “Coffee with the Lord”

“Therefore, holy brothers (and sisters), who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.  He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house… Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house… But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.” (from Hebrews 3:1-6 NIV)

Did you pick up on the message?  We should CONSIDER OR CONTEMPLATE JESUS… HE WAS FAITHFUL to the Heavenly Father and the mission He was given.  Moses was also faithful.  WE ALSO, ARE CALLED TO FAITHFULNESS… and our challenge is to “hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory”

Three things came to mind about my faithfulness as I considered and reflected on Jesus and His faithfulness today.  I WANT TO BE FAITHFUL TO…

1.  THE MASTER – The faithfulness of Jesus to the Father – totally committed to God’s will even though it lead Him to the cross! That faithfulness challenges me to be faithful, even if it leads to death… “faithful unto death” if you please!

2.  THE MISSION – I want to be able to look God in the eye one day and be able to say what the apostle Paul said: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith!” (2 Timothy 4:7)  I want to be comfortable in His presence with the knowledge I have done my best to fulfill the “Great Commission” (Matthew 28:19-20)

3.  THE MESSAGE – I want to share the gospel message with clarity and integrity!  I never want to be guilty of distorting or misrepresenting God’s word!  (2 Corinthians 4:1-2)

So reflecting the Biblical significance of the word “faithful” today… I WANT MY “FAITH” IN GOD TO BE REFLECTED AND EXPRESSED IN CONCRETE, PRACTICAL WAYS.  I want to live by my commitments to Him!  I want my loyalty to Him to show!  I want to be dependable – I want God to be able to count on me!  And when all is said and done, I WANT TO HEAR HIM DECLARE THE “AMEN!” TO MY LIFE!

Jesus Can Bring Victory Out of Despair!

Often in a very painful and sorrow filled experience there is a “higher purpose” to be discovered and a victory to be experienced… I read about it this morning during my time of “coffee with the Lord!”

“Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha… So the sisters sent to him, saying, ‘Lord, he whom you love is ill.’ But when Jesus heard it he said, ‘This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.’ Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

“Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had died and already been in the tomb four days… So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. Martha said to Jesus, ‘Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Your brother will rise again.’ Martha said to him, ‘I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.’ Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’ She said to him, ‘Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.’

“Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. Jesus said, ‘Take away the stone.’ Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, ‘Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?’ So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, ‘Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.’ When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out.’ The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, ‘Unbind him, and let him go.’” (From John 11:1-44 ESV)

Powerful!!! I never want to forget the truth taught in in this passage! God’s purposes are higher than ours and His power to bring victory out of despair is unlimited!

Words from “My Shepherd!”

“The Lord is MY shepherd!” (Psalm 23:1)… “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand! My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand!” (Jesus in John 10:27-28)
