Here’s one voice urging you to establish some “Christ-centered” Christmas traditions

Christ-Centered Christmas TraditionsEvery family has their Christmas traditions… Over the years we’ve really tried to keep ours “Christ-centered.”

So here’s what we do: Our big celebration is on Christmas Eve… We enjoy a meal together – a Christmas favorite – Mexicali Pie. Then someone shares a Christmas devotion – reading the Christmas story; we give “gifts to Jesus” (which is a personal commitment to Him that we write and put in an envelope under the Christmas tree – “To Jesus, From ___________”); then we share Communion together (“Do this in remembrance of Me”); and end the evening sharing a time of giving and receiving gifts.

Here’s just one voice urging you to keep your Christmas Christ-centered. Establish some personal, Christ-centered traditions!

Another pic to enrich your Christmas… unwrapping “God’s indescribable gift!”

Indescribable gift - ChristmasAnother pic to enrich your Christmas as a Christian… Don’t know about you, but my life as a follower of Jesus has been one incredible daily discovery after another unwrapping the wonder of His grace – “one grace after another” – “grace upon grace!” (John 1:16)

Do you think they said, “Isn’t OUR son beautiful?” I don’t think so…

The NativityI know it’s my Christmas cover photo… but it’s been a great thought provoker for me this Christmas… Can you imagine either Joseph or Mary saying, “Isn’t OUR son beautiful?!” That would not have happened I believe – they knew better! There was a deep sense that the baby they held was not “THEIRS” – He was “GOD’S SON“! (Read Luke 1:26-35 and Matthew 1:18-25 if you doubt it!) He was not “THEIR son” – He was “GOD’S SON,” – “Jesus, for He will save his people from their sins!” I can only imagine the conversation Mary and Joseph had with the shepherds if their was any doubt about who the babe in the manger was…(read Luke 2:8-20)! He was not THEIR baby – He was GOD’S SON!!! And if you are Mary and Joseph that makes a difference in how you parent Him, don’t you think?
