You’ve encountered them… People who are always stirring things up. They seem to “have never seen a fight they didn’t enjoy.” With a gleam in their eye they develop strategies to trip righteous people up. It’s frustrating I know!
Here’s the issue: How do you deal with that kind of person? My Bible reading today in the Psalms gives some godly help I believe…
“Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually… Guard me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men, who have planned to trip up my feet… I say to the Lord, You are my God; give ear to the voice of my pleas for mercy, O Lord! … Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked! … I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy. Surely the righteous shall give thanks to your name; the upright shall dwell in your presence.” (Taken from Psalm 140 ESV)
Try that response and strategy on for size! Gotta tell you I believe it will work (and God will be pleased)!
