This morning my heart echoes the heart’s cry of Jesus my Savior and Lord! If this is what He longed for and expressed to the Father in His high priestly prayer, it what I desire and pray for as well! Oh, may we be faithful in sharing the message of the gospel with others! May there be authentic unity among those who are Christ followers so that others will be attracted to Him! May His desire that one day we all be with Him forever be completely realized! Here it is in His own words…
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me… May they be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” (John 17:20–24 NIV)
He wanted that! I want that! I want His heart to be what my heart longs for! And that’s what I prayed for this Lord’s Day morning!
