Gaining Perspective…

The Universe

Here I am one person… on just one day in human history… on one planet in the entire universe… in one tiny town tucked away in the mountains of Western Montana… a single individual among the multitudes that have occupied planet earth… and this morning I read Psalm 139 in my Bible during my time of devotions (I call it “coffee with the Lord”)…

Here’s my brief personal summary of what it says… (You really should get out your Bible and read it for yourself, pausing and reflecting over every delicious phrase…

The Lord knows me! …Every detail of my life! …He cares for me! …You see, He created me – He fashioned me in my mother’s womb! …It blows my mind! And what’s true for me is also true for you!

And my response? O, I want to please Him in everything! …My thoughts and my actions!

“How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God! … Search me and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! See if there is any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” (Psalm 139:17, 23-24)
