Read these wonderful words this morning in the Bible and thought to myself, we really need to ponder this scene and take the words of Jesus to heart…
“And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God! Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.’ And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.” (Mark 10:13–16 ESV)
A few lessons learned?
Jesus cares very much for children and prioritizes them! They were NOT a bother to Him! Those who thought they were, simply put were out of touch and brought about His indignation!
We do well to learn from and embrace the simple trust, receptivity and humility of a child!
The church or ministry that prioritizes children’s ministry embraces and emulates the heart of our Savior!
